Owain Astles' powerful short film To My Younger Self which features my original score and sound design is screening later this month in Portsmouth. You can catch the film at No6 Cinema on the 28th October showing before Sam Hobkinson's documentary feature Misha and the Wolves. The screening is hosted by Making Waves Film Festival so a huge thank you to them for providing an opportunity for the film to be watched on the big screen.
Tickets for the event can be purchased through the cinema's website, if you are unable to make it to the screening you can also stream the film on BBC iPlayer. To My Younger Self focuses on the real testimony of a young man who spent over 100 days in solitary confinement whilst in a Young Offender Institution, the film is an immersive exploration of the mental and emotional trauma of youth incarceration and explores the themes of isolation and dehumanisation in the UK youth prison system.
