Catch two brand new short films featuring my original soundtracks at the Mockingbird Cinema in Birmingham later this month! On 31st May Letters From Space and No Worries If Not! will premiere alongside two other short films produced through the Pretty Hate Productions Short Film Fund.
Letters From Space is a tender sci-fi tale of a young girl - Ash. When her idol and older brother David is sent on 'a mission to space', she only hears from him through written letters which fizzle out as she grows up. Now packing for University, Ash receives another letter from her brother, forcing her to revisit memories, childlike fantasies and the tragic reason why he left.
No Worries if Not! tells the story of Grace, a lifelong people pleaser who prefaces every request with the sentence too many of us are familiar with - “no worries if not!” (and usually with several exclamation marks). As a dark comedy it pokes fun at a relatable bad habit many of us are guilty of - particularly millennial women trying to navigate the workplace after a lifetime of being criticised for speaking assertively and labelled ‘bossy.’
There are limited free tickets available through the Pretty Hate website so make sure you snap them up quickly if you fancy catching these brilliant films along with the creatives involved in bringing these stories to life - I'll be there too!
